EasyLounge Build: 2017 Volkswagen Transporter T5 LWB Conversion

Working around the existing rear bench seat, we designed a layout using our EasyLounge sliding bed base to make the most of the space. This van is also a bit of a timepiece — one of the earlier builds featuring our custom Tasmanian oak cladding with a secret nail finish, giving it a warm, homey feel that still holds up today.

Key features include:

  • EasyLounge Sliding Bed Base: Sliding bed base working in with the existing rear bench seat for a flexible sleep and lounge setup.
  • Butterscotch 2-Piece Mattress: Two-piece Butterscotch mattress fitted to the EasyLounge platform.
  • Bedside Table on LHS with onTAP Jerry Can Storage: Bedside table on the left-hand side with dedicated storage built in for an onTAP jerry can.
  • Bluetti Portable Battery System: Bluetti portable battery system for off-grid power without a fixed electrical install.
  • Tasmanian Oak Cladding with Secret Nail Finish: Full interior lined in Tasmanian oak with a secret nail finish — one of the earlier examples of this treatment out of our workshop.

A comfortable, well-finished van built around a clever use of the existing interior — and one of the better-looking T5s we've put together.
